Chamsys Lights up new series of Big Brother
Joining the housemates in Channel 5’s Big Brother house is a state of the art, MQ100Pro2010 lighting console. Russell Grubiak, TV programmer, recently purchased a Chamsys MQ100 PRO 2010 desk, from Anagram Productions, a leading supplier of audio visual solutions and equipment for the television, event and entertainment industries.
Grubiak required an additional desk to use on his growing roster of television shows including; Got to Dance, X-Factor, Red or Black, The Jonathon Ross Show, Family Fortunes and Dancing on Ice. After evaluating several lighting desks he selected the MQ100 PRO 2010, its tight integration with media servers, fast to program and easy to learn user interface makes the console the perfect choice for the time constraints faced in television programme production.
Impressed with the MagicQ’s capabilities for controlling many types of fixtures, including a brilliant relationship with media servers, Grubiak commented: “I couldn’t wait to get an impressive rig on the end of this machine, some of the features such as curving between palettes cut the programming time and brought new possibilities to shows.”
The desk was in situ since the night of the first celebrity eviction. It allowed Grubiak to control the hippotiser that outputs the graphics onto the stage’s eye shaped LED screen and the LED wall on the front of the house; the mistrip LED in the audience and the mitrix and mistrip in the interview room on stage. It was used throughout the series.
